Peanuts & Cracker Jacks

So after cake & ice cream, what better way to celebrate Father's Day/DH's Bday than attending a baseball game! We packed up the family and headed over to The Dell Diamond where, despite their losing, we enjoyed watching the Round Rock Express play the Memphis Redbirds. It was my first AAA game to attend and I have to say that this was a fantastic family outing.

Pre-game activities included the kids receiving baseball gloves and heading out to the field for a game of catch with dad. Prior to the game's start, DH got to jump on the bungee trampoline and had a ball. It was fun watching the game itself with the kids. They have little understanding of "teams" so they were yelling for EVERYONE. DH got the kiddos a baseball hat and they enjoyed eating some of the classics including peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

The game lasting well past the kid's bedtime and all the excitement beat out all the sugar intake and they both crashed on the way home.

We look forward to attending another game soon.

At Last, They Do

Whew! What a weekend! I don't know about the rest of the gang, but I could use a weekend to re-cooperate. A couple of our friends finally said "I do" this past weekend. The wedding was held Sunday morning at Green Pastures Restaurant & Event Center. It was a good thing it was a morning wedding, too. It was an outdoor ceremony and with the freaky mid-summer heat wave occurring here the beginning of June, well, to say it was hot would be an understatement.

DH and DD served as the Best Man and the flower girl for the ceremony and I ended up being the florist and photographer (long story). What about my DS, you ask? He was there as well...kept busy all day long wooing all the ladies in attendance so they would hold him. Such a ladies' man! LOL.

Since I had some pix of the event, I figured I'd share a few of my faves with whomever reads this blog... The wedding cake, bride's bouquet pix is pretty self-explanatory. A few of my other favorites include a pix of me and my family we had a friend shoot after the wedding. As it isn't often we are all dressed up at the same time, figured I better take advantage of the situation and get a family photo. So very glad I did. (Mom, I'll get you a copy in the mail asap!) Then comes a personal favorite of my DD, the flower girl, with the bride. Next up is a pix of the bride and one of the groom, followed by a picture of the entire wedding party. That is all I'll bore you with for now.

Our family wishes the newlyweds a very blessed marriage!

Gotta run... have to burn a CD of all the pix for the newlyweds. Ciao for now!

Let's Luau Y'all!

Saturday evening found our family doing the hula. Well, actually, DD was the only one successfully doing the hula. It was a Texas Luau wedding shower for some friends of ours. It was a fun and relaxing time and everyone had a ball. The kids played with balloons and beach balls in the yard while all us "old folks" sat around and visited.

Our DD decided that she "needed" to wear my grass skirt so we cut it down to size and once adorned in a hula skirt, a lei and a flower headband (that she "stole" from the hostess), she was ready to hula. And hula she did! She was a dancing fool.

There was enough BBQ to feed an army and I don't think the blender stopped all night. Everyone had a ball! In addition to hanging around partying, we got to ooohhh and aaaahhh over host's garden, which i SO wish I could transplant to my home.
